The Field Trip, and
most Flights will be at Pitt Meadows Airport in Maple Ridge BC.
Google Maps will get you to the airport,
but it won't help you find us. Every single person who ignored these instructions and used Google Maps to get to the airport has missed their flight.
The airport is huge, with 12 separate entrances. Use Google Maps, or your car's navigation system, to get you to the RED Dot.
Then continue west along Airport Road to the Runway Cafe (BLUE Dot) which will be on your left, across from Sky Helicopters. Then call or text your pilot (exchange numbers before your flight)
and he or she will come and let you in
Airside through the people gate near the cafe.
Your Call Sign
Time to choose your "Fighter Pilot Name" (also known as your 'Call Sign').
The most famous, of course, is from the movie Top Gun: Pete "Maverick" Mitchell.
In the real-world fighter pilots don't get 'cool' names. Call signs are usually something his/her buddies tease them about.
For example:
There was a fellow who failed an exam that nobody had every failed before. He was forever after known as '
Legend'.
A pilot who's first name was Cesar. Got the call sign: '
Salad'.
A fellow who had a reputation for being able to sleep anywhere. Got the call sign '
Siesta'.
If you (or your friends) can come up with a 'Call Sign' for you, we will use it during radio practice.
If you like, you can also have it on your Co-Pilot's License. You can also use it as your name during the ZOOM classes.
Here is a great site with some ideas as to how real-world pilots got their Fighter-Pilot names:
https://aviationhumor.net/the-100-most-creative-pilot-callsigns-with-explanations/
If the above site doesn't give you any ideas, here is another site that will generate a Fighter Pilot Name for you:

Have fun with it.
And please email Janine before Saturday and let me know your 'Call Sign':

Attendance
If there is any reason that you can't make this class (all sessions), please don't register for it. There are usually people waiting for a spot, so please don't take up a seat that you won't be using.
